LBTU Malnava College Implemented Organic Farming Module
On 20 March 2026, LBTU Malnava College successfully implemented the professional qualification Agricultural Mechanization Technician within the vocational education programme Agriculture, which corresponds to the fourth level of professional qualification. The 112-hour Organic Agriculture module was implemented as part of the State Education Development Agency’s STARS project (more about the project HERE).
Eight participants successfully completed the programme from 27 November 2025 to 20 March 2026, enhancing both their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of organic agriculture. The participants gained an in-depth understanding of the principles of sustainable farming and efficient resource use; they learned methods for monitoring soil and plant health, the principles of using organic fertilizers and plant protection products, animal welfare, feed planning, and health monitoring, as well as got acquainted with the examples of best practices in the sector. The participants of the educational programme improved their organic farming skills during practical classes at the LBTU Malnava College crop production laboratory and greenhouse.

The educational programme was implemented under European Social Fund Plus Project No.4.2.4.2/1/24/I/001 Support for Adult Education Based on Individual Needs, promoting the development of professional competencies among adults and access to lifelong learning.
