The Project Strengthening LBTU’s Institutional Capacity for Excellence in Studies and Research Continues
As part of the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility, the project staff at the Malnava College, together with other employees, are actively working to achieve the project’s objectives and expected results, which will promote excellence and management efficiency during the consolidation process with LBTU.
In the second quarter of 2025, the implementation of accounting modules, the document management system Namejs, and the Quality Management System will continue to improve work quality and synchronize operations with LBTU. IT infrastructure improvements are underway—the connection of academic buildings via wireless networks has been completed; hybrid and computer labs are being set up with appropriate digital equipment, including the purchase of computers, monitors, software, and more.
To improve the quality of education and provide students with greater opportunities to learn about modern technologies, a tender has been announced for the purchase of training simulators for electric and hybrid vehicles (in the field of automotive transport), and a contract has been signed for the purchase of a grain quality analyser (crop production).
In parallel with other activities, work is underway on two new study programmes that will expand the short-cycle professional higher education offerings at LBTU Malnava College: the Woodworking programme has been prepared and submitted for licensing to the Academic Information Centre (AIC). The programme Smart Tourism and Entrepreneurship in Rural Areas has been approved by the LBTU Senate to be forwarded for licensing to the AIC. The purchase of books to expand the library’s collection continues; work has begun on developing Malnava College’s visual identity and improving its website. Publicity for the project’s implementation is being ensured.
To date, two project reports have been approved; the third reporting period will conclude on 30 June, and it is projected that project progress (including concluded contracts) will amount to approximately 32% of the approved funding. Project duration: 4 April 2024 – 31 May 2026.
