Students of LBTU Malnava College Gain Knowledge and Skills in Lithuania
On 29 May 2025, the International Competition for the Best Tractor Driver's Skills took place at the Kudirka Naumiestis branch of the Marijampole Vocational Training Centre, bringing together vocational education students from Poland, Latvia, and Lithuania.
The aim of the competition was to deepen theoretical and practical knowledge in the fields of agriculture and vehicle maintenance, to develop safe work skills and to promote the professions. It also strengthened cooperation between educational institutions and industry companies. Participants, future agricultural production commercial workers, technical maintenance commercial workers, vehicle repair mechanics and blacksmiths (up to 29 years old) demonstrated their abilities in both a theoretical test and practical tasks. LBTU Malnava College was represented by students Eduards Skutelis, Jānis Rakstiņš and instructor Artūrs Vorkalis. The participants of the competition competed in: Theoretical knowledge test: knowledge of engines, transmissions, maintenance of equipment, metal technology and safety at work was tested. Identification of spare parts and mechanisms: accuracy and knowledge in practice. John Deere 6150M tractor figure driving: an exciting practical task that required agility and precision. The competition was organized by the Šakiai District Farmers' Association, UAB Agrodronas and the Kudirka Naumiestis branch of the Marijampole Vocational Training Centre.
